Shabbat Services, Aufruf and Kiddush Lunch

Please join us for the Aufruf, when Sharon and Chase are called to the Torah for a blessing before the wedding ceremony. Shabbat Services will be followed by lunch for our guests.

Cocktail Hour/Bedeken, Tisch and Ketubah Signing, Wedding Ceremony, and Reception

Our Bedeken ceremony takes place right before the wedding and symbolizes Sharon and Chase’s intentionality and commitment, as the couples ensure they are the ones they will be marrying. During the Bedeken, Chase and Sharon will confirm their identities by placing Sharon’s veil and Chase’s kippah to make a statement that they will care and provide for each other. Sharon will be seated and greeted by family and guests then Chase will be danced in by his friends and family to start the ceremony.

This will be followed by a brief Tisch during which, there will be singing and celebrations. Sharon and Chase will also deliver a dvar Torah (an interpretation of the weekly Torah portion).

Chase and Sharon’s mothers will then agree to T’naim by breaking a plate together, representing the seriousness and finality of the marriage. 

Sharon and Chase will sign the Ketubah, the legal Jewish document stating the obligations of a Jewish couple.

Please Note: For security purposes, the synagogue will require all guests to present an ID upon arrival
